



| Ashridge has recently commenced work on a new highways contract at Headington for Oxfordshire County Council. | ||
The contract is for the London Road, one of the busiest routes into Oxford and the roadworks cover from Osler Road to Wharton Road. The aim of the scheme is to improve journey times and reliability for local people traveling by bus as well as to make the Headington shopping area a better place to shop and help ensure it s future as a vibrant local centre. The contract comprises of the construction of better pavements, installation of new, high-quality street furniture, construction of two new pedestrian crossings, an inbound bus gate to reduce delays for passengers and gently raised junctions and side road crossings. The carriageway will also be resurfaced and existing traffic signals upgraded. | ![]() |
